Greetings, y’all!
About me: I’m Kaytlin, and I’m honored you’re here! I was born and raised about an hour south of Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by the rolling hills of Appalachia and seemingly endless woods. My parents were hardworking small business owners who fought tirelessly to provide me with a better life, and they are a driving source of motivation for me in my career. I’m a lifelong fan of almost all things pop culture, so you can usually find me curled up on the couch, entranced by an imaginary world of some kind.
Following the completion of my Master’s of Social Work in 2019, I moved to eastern Oregon, where I began my professional career as a crisis responder. Six months later, the COVID-19 pandemic began, and my career shifted in ways I had never imagined as we all navigated this “new normal” together. After several years, I transitioned to working as an intensive outpatient therapist for teens & young adults with early psychosis in 2021. In 2024, my partner, our pets, and I decided to relocate closer to Portland, where I worked as a residential treatment therapist for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Now, we call Spokane, Washington, our home, and we can’t wait to settle in and build a life here!
TL;DR My experience aligns with my passion for counseling people of all ages.

Approaches & Affiliations -
Harm Reduction
Harm Reduction aims to minimize the negative effects of a behavior while respecting a patient’s autonomy. When a provider takes a harm reduction approach, they help the patient reduce potential risks by educating and supporting realistic alternatives to or versions of those activities.
LGBTQ+ Affirming
An LGBTQ+ affirming approach normalizes and celebrates everyone’s sexuality, desires, identities, and practices. Providers appreciate how our identities can shape aspects of our lives in positive ways - with exploration, confidence, and pleasure.
Weight Inclusive
Being weight-inclusive is a holistic approach to health that shifts conversations to include other aspects of health besides weight. When we de-emphasize numbers on the scale or BMI, we can focus on different factors that have an effect on health and well-being.
Racial Equity
Profound health disparities for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and Pacific Islanders have for too long been accepted and perpetuated by the healthcare system. A Racial Equity approach works to stop racism in healthcare by encouraging continuous learning, interrupting our biases, centering the patient’s voice, and advocating for change.
Informed Consent
Informed Consent educates the patient regarding risks, benefits, and alternatives of medical procedures and treatments. An Informed Consent approach creates shared decision-making through provider-patient dialogue.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-informed care creates emotional and physical safety and trust between the provider and the patient. Providers understand that a patient may be coming from a place of past trauma, recognizing that, and working toward preventing retraumatization in every aspect of each visit, potential exam, and referral.

To build a strong foundation of trust and safety in our therapeutic journey together, I start with an intake assessment (where we identify what you’d like to work on in therapy!) and then we move forward to treatment planning (where we focus in and define your goals!) This process can only take 1 - 2 sessions sometimes, but is progression is based on your level of comfortability.
